A family business in heart and soul in the mountains above Málaga, in the village of Casabermeja. Father, mother and the two sons work here full-time. Each with its own area of interest, such as the olive orchard, the production of ecological olive oil, guided tours and shipping orders.
The origins of this family business lies with grandfather Angel Castillejos. He once started breeding and processing the Iberian pig in the valley of Pedroches, Cordoba. The Iberian pig is a breed that has existed in Spain for centuries and is renowned for its slightly sweet taste, texture and excellent quality.
What started in 1931 as a traditional bodega producing red and white wines from their own vineyards, was expanded considerably in the 1980s. The son and successor of father Diaz, Marcelino started the production of Cava according to the traditional method (champagnoise).
The history of La Borgeña began more than forty years ago in El Borge, a mountainous area east of Málaga. When Francisco Palomo Velasco, a modest farmer and in love with the products of his land, decided to start selling dried raisins (Moscatel from Alejandría).
Dimobe is a family business since the early twentieth century. Currently, the third generation is in command and the fourth generation has already made its debut. The founder, Juan Muñoz Navarrete, worked on the construction of the famous prey in the jet. He carried stones and lived in barracks of workers, for months. To earn some money. Winning but spending little, he was able to accumulate some capital and build his own bakery, to start in Moclinejo. Until he managed to have seven oak barrels and buy sweet wine to trade. Cheese farm La Hortelana is a small family business in Coín and consists of Antonio, master cheesemaker, Mari Cruz, livestock farmer and their son Adrián, representative of the cheese factory. The family business works according to the traditional way of cheese making.
The Ramos bakery was born in 1890, when Damián’s great -grandfather and Sebastian, went with his donkey to see Sumotro. With the passage of time, children and grandchildren continued the family tradition. Today, Damián and Sebastián still remember the “trajín” of their grandparents and the times their grandmother scolded for entering the Full Arena store. “We saw our grandparents work tirelessly, but with passion, and there they instilled the business and profession.” The passion looks and tasted in its products Famoso for its star product; the carob cake and then for its delicious nougat and exquisite bombs. Piquitos Rubio is a family business in Ardales, near the famous Caminto del Rey, that has been passionately producing artisanal piquitos with sourdough for forty years. Pepe Rubio was taught how to make piquitos at an early age. His mother, who in turn learned from her mother, encouraged Pepe and his brothers to make the piquitos by hand. They repeated the process over and over again, spending as much time as necessary to achieve the perfect piquito. They succeeded, everything comes together in one bite of the piquito: a baker’s patience and love for his product, the traditional preparation method, the best raw materials, sourdough and baking in a wood-fired oven.
